
Samara Wall
Mental Health Social Worker/Counsellor.
Samara is an accredited mental health social worker and member of the AASW. She has worked for over 15 years as a Social Worker in various settings including child, youth and family therapy, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, foster care and crisis counselling.
Her work experience also includes telephone counselling for the PANDA and Lifeline helplines, sharing her skills and knowledge as well as being a peer mentor with experience of recovery from mental illness.
Samara is driven by a person centred, strength based approach and works collaboratively with clients and other service systems to advocate for the development of the full potential and health of everyone she works with. She values connection and is warm, compassionate, non-judgemental and passionate about her work, which utilises combined approaches such as: play therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and narrative therapy. She aims to create a genuine experience of being heard and valued, as well as providing suggestions of resources and strategies to empower clients to overcome their own struggles.
Samara has completed extra training in the areas of family therapy, trauma, grief and loss, mindful parenting, nature-based therapy, child-centred practice, play therapy, cultural competence, mediation, Indigenous and LGBTI communities; as well as having completed perinatal specific training with the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE).
